Research Department
The Research Department of the KU Linz is the central service and coordination centre for activities in the areas of research and international relations. The KU's ongoing work focuses on impact research in the relationships between business, ethics and society, the research areas of discourses of the public sphere and transforming the human as well as the international exchange of experts and students. In addition to the educational mission, the specific profile as a Catholic university results in an obligation to orientate research towards application and to transfer research results into practice. In concrete terms, this means that the KU Linz is committed to addressing current social challenges and problems.
The tasks of the Research Department include the following aspects:
- Contact point for planning and acquisition of projects, applications and questions regarding the presentation of research achievements
- Service and advice on funding programmes and acquiring third-party funding
- Information hub for internationalisation (mobility programmes and stays abroad, arranging scholarships, international relations in cooperation with the institutes and departments)
- Strategy: management and implementation of the university-wide research and internationalisation strategy in coordination with the university management
- Project management: management and control of national and international research projects
