Institute of Theoretical Philosophy

The Institute of Theoretical Philosophy is concerned with the question of the fundamental presuppositions of human thought, language, and knowledge. The Institute hence strives to represent the whole of the discipline and to establish connections with other fundamental disciplines of philosophy.

Epistemology, philosophy of language, hermeneutics, and metaphysics are the central areas of research and teaching. Of special interest are questions and problems of the philosophy of religion (forms and critique of religious consciousness) and philosophical theology (theories of the absolute). Positions of the modern era and the present are prioritised.
